Full-Size 3D Printed Replica – Japanese 47mm Type 1 Anti-Tank Shell (WWII)
This is a full-scale, historically accurate replica of the Type 1 cannon shell used with the 47mm Type 1 anti-tank gun employed by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. This shell was fired from both towed field guns and mounted in various Japanese medium tanks, including the Type 97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha and Type 1 Chi-He.
The model includes two projectile options:
-
AP (Armor-Piercing) Shell
-
HE (High-Explosive) Shell with a detailed replica of the Type 88 'instant' fuze
Historical Notes:
-
The AP shell includes the "大" (Osaka Arsenal) mark in a circle.
-
The casing includes 対 戦 車 砲, which translates to "anti-tank cannon."
-
Stencils are not included, as historical evidence suggests kanji was hand-painted or applied with pattern rollers.
Approximate Dimensions:
-
Height: 400mm to 448mm (15.75"–17.6"), depending on the projectile used
-
Diameter: 71.5mm (2.8") at the base rim
This replica is an excellent addition for collectors, reenactors, historians, or educators with an interest in Japanese WWII ordnance. Non-functional and intended for display and educational use only.
